This trick works of course, if a first activation has already been made.
Here’s a tip that will appeal to those who relocate often strongly their operating system, and without even reactivate it.
Simply follow these steps:
- to search the file wpa.dbl, or go look for it in C: \ windows \ system32 \.
- make a copy of the file (on disk, partition or other disk …).
- Restore it at a future upgrade of Windows XP.
- Restart the PC and test if the activation is operational. To do this, follow this;
- Click on Start / Run and type this:
C: \ windows \ system32 \ oobe \ msoobe / a
- If this does not work, type the following command:
oobe / msoobe / a
- Click on Start / Run and type this:
- A window “Windows Activation” must appear: this means that Windows XP is actually very active!
This trick works perfectly and has been tested on Windows XP Home Edition and Professional …
