Windows – Error loading RunDLL (rundll32.exe)

The process rundll32.exe (rundll32 Run a DLL as meaning a 32-bit application) is a Windows NT/2000/XP generic process used for loading dynamic libraries (DLLs) in memory to make it usable by other programs :

Windows displays a message similar to this:

  RUNDLL error loading <file> The specified module could not be found.

This problem is related to load when Windows starts a program no longer exists or incorrect. To remove this error,

  • click on the Start menu,
  • then run and type the following command:
      msconfig
  • In the Startup tab uncheck the line related to the file,
  • then click apply.
  • After reboot, a new window will open indicating that Windows is in selective startup. Just check the box does not show this message and confirm.

RunDLL found

Windows displays an error message similar to this:

  Windows can not find C: \ Windows \ Rundll32.exe.  Make sure you typed the name correctly and try again.

The problem is to delete the file c: \ windows \ system32 \ rundll32.exe by a third-party program (usually a program for customizing the appearance of Windows).

Rundll32 has stopped fontion (Vista)

By opening videos, Vista opens a window “Windows Host Process” indicating that Rundll32 has stopped working.
To correct the problem, do the following operations:

  • Go to “Control Panel”
  • Folder Options
  • Click on the “View” tab
  • Check the “Always show icons, never thumbnails”

In fact, it is the miniature films that raise concern in Vista.
